HOMURA'S CRIMSON SQUAD: Homura and her four closest friends once served as the Elites of Hebijo Academy. When Dōgen, Hebijo's chief financier, tried to twist the school into a demonic ritual ground, Homura fought and killed him – by all appearances – then fled with her friends into hiding. For months, they lived a life of desperation together, working menial jobs to buy groceries by day, then training in their hideout by night, always on the lookout for hunters from their former school. A former second-year student at Hebijo Clandestine Girls' Academy. She grew up in the slums, where she learned to hate the wealthy – a hatred that only partly subsided when she later befriended Ikaruga. With no siblings of her own, she thinks of the other Crimson Squad girls as her sisters, and in their life as rugged fugitives, she's worked to teach them all how to live simply and humbly. In her time as a shinobi student, she's managed to master a wide variety of weapons, from her broadsword to her crossbow, and uses them all with flawless precision. Oh, and she loves bean sprouts – that particular detail is surprisingly important!
