OVERSEERS OF THE FESTIVAL: Once every thousand years, a convergence of mystical forces brings about the Kagura Millennium Festival, whose Overseers take on the task of laying departed shinobi's souls to rest. This millennium, Hanzō's wife Sayuri has taken charge of the Festival, bringing together three shrine maidens and a particularly radiant soul to assist in the proceedings. Unbeknownst to all but her, the Festival is more than it appears to be. Deeper secrets lie beneath its lights and litanies, and if the up-and-coming shinobi students can prove they're ready to learn, those secrets just might change their fates – and the fates of many, many others…

In life, Ryōki was the elder sister of the twins Ryōna and Ryōbi. When their parents died, Ryōki took care of them all while working and studying to be a shinobi. To the younger sisters, she was their shining star – but tragically, not long after her shinobi career began, she was killed by a yōma. Now in this strange other world, the three sisters have been reunited. As a spirit, Ryōki wishes to make the most of her limited time to say goodbye. She appears as young and bright as she always did, but with an actual halo over her head – which, if anyone touches it, drives her into a sudden berserker rage. She fights with a special shotgun and shield.
